Would you like crypto with that?

Burger King just launched their own cryptocurrency/alt coin called "WhopperCoin".

Basically you get a free coin with every purchase, which you can eventually use to get a "free" whopper.

It's similar to many loyalty programs out there, but instead of virtual points, you get a real alt-coin.

It's only available in Russia for now, but I imagine they'll be rolling out worldwide eventually.

From offering adult meals complete with sex toys on Valentine's Day, to giving away free whoppers to whoever removed 10 friends from Facebook, to creating the creepiest mascot of the decade, to concocting their own "flame grilled" scented cologne BK never fails to amuse me with their creative marketing.

Who knows? Maybe other companies will follow suit and create their own cryto coin, instead of using virtual loyalty "points"

 Wal-Coin, Toys R' Coin, the list could go on and on.

Though I don't think McDonald's will jump on board, since the CEO seems to not want to do anything fun like build the McWhopper to promote world peace.

This is big news for cryptocurrency; a multi-billion dollar fast food chain is introducing a new coin to their customers....

with fries on the side!

Although, it would probably be more valuable as a legit crypto coin if you could use it to purchase ANY menu item, instead from the looks of it, you can ONLY get a whopper. 

But I want to have it MY way!
